A coffee cup and saucer in silver-gilt (vermeil) and polychrome cloisonné enamel, made by the 11th Artel in Moscow, 1908–1917.
The neo-Russian floral and geometric decoration combines volutes, scrolls and pearl motifs in turquoise blue, midnight blue and orange. The cup has a shaped handle with a thumb-rest.
Marked 84 zolotniks, with a right-facing kokoshnik head and Moscow control letter.
Height: 5.3 cm. Diameter: 10.2 cm.
Condition: Good state of preservation.
This cup and saucer exemplifies the richly coloured cloisonné enamel and traditional neo-Russian ornament of Moscow silverwork during the reign of Nicholas II.
