Polygon-shaped planter in gilded bronze and polychrome enameled porcelain and gold gilding decorated with scrolled cartouches on a celestial blue background, decorated with trendy birds and rich floral bouquets (roses, tulips) chiseled and gilded bronze rocaille style frame including a scalloped upper lip with scroll motifs, side handles with foliage clasps and garlands, resting on a quadripod base with arched legs and square runners.

Perfect condition.
Under the reign of Emperor Nicholas I (1825-1855), the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory of St. Petersburg reached a technical and artistic peak. The ceremonial pieces produced for the imperial court were strongly inspired by the French decorative repertoire of the 18th century, in particular the Rococo style and the productions of the Manufacture de Sèvres, reinterpreted here with the opulence specific to the orders of the Russian aristocracy.
Our object/painting/furniture is part of the prestigious production of the Imperial Russian Manufacture of the first half of the 19th century, testifying to the court’s craze for “neo-rocaille” style art objects enhanced with rich gilded bronze frames.
