At the beginning of the 20th century, under Tsar Nicholas II, Moscow silversmithing reached a period of full creative flourishing. The neo-Russian style came to dominate the decorative arts, celebrating traditional forms and the technical mastery of filigree cloisonné enamel with pastel nuances and medieval-inspired motifs.
This piece belongs to the exceptional production of objets de vertu and shaped tableware, illustrating the refinement and prestige of Russian table arts at the close of the imperial era.
