Swiss Geneva gold oval snuff box with polychrome guilloché enamel, floral painting and gem-set decoration, circa 1800–1820.

Fine oval gold snuff box made in Geneva, Switzerland, during the Empire or Restoration period, circa 1800–1820. The hinged cover is centred by a scalloped medallion of translucent red guilloché enamel, finely hand-painted with a bouquet of roses, pansies and carnations. The medallion is framed by rose-cut diamonds or paste gems and surrounded by pink and green enamel borders. Matching floral panels decorate the waist over translucent red enamel. Very good overall condition.
