Rare and important Persian-inspired cabinet mirror.
The glass plate is entirely decorated with polychrome enamels and hot-applied gold. It features a portico in the shape of a stylized polylobed arch delimiting the central mirror part. The spandrels, uprights and lower rail are decorated with a sumptuous network of sinuous scrollwork, geometric motifs and stylized flowers in shades of turquoise blue, white, green and brick red on a shiny gold background.
The whole is presented in its original carved and molded wooden frame with a frieze of arabesques in relief.
Austrian work. Art Nouveau period.
