Charles X Palais-Royal Gilt-Bronze Mounted Uranium Opaline Glass Basket, circa 1830

Centerpiece basket (corbeille) crafted in translucent apple-green uranium opaline glass, displaying vivid luminescence under UV light. The shallow circular dish is decorated with a gilt floral garland and central ringed motif, set in an elaborate Charles X gilt-bronze mount with openwork foliate rim, ball feet and twisted wirework handle with floral rosettes. France, Palais-Royal workshops, circa 1830. Provenance: Collection of Yves Saint Laurent, Paris auction, 1978. Good condition.
