Russian work, circa 1900.
Oval convertible pendant-brooch in silver-coloured metal and gold, surmounted by a ribbon bow. The centre is set with an oval cabochon black opal showing intense red, green, violet and blue play of colour, within a border of square calibrated green stones and an outer row of rose-cut diamonds. The ribbon bow forming the bale is pavé-set with rose-cut diamonds.
The articulated bale and brooch fitting to the reverse allow the jewel to be worn either as a pendant or as a brooch. Unmarked.
