Oblong Qajar papier-mâché pen case with rounded ends, painted in polychrome beneath glossy lacquer. Decorated with European-inspired figures, portrait medallions and landscape scenes; the sliding tray is lacquered in red and green. Iran, late 18th to very early 19th century. Good condition with age-related wear.
