A French Baccarat clear lead-crystal decanter with deep diamond-point cutting, a faceted sphere stopper and gilt-bronze mounts, circa 1890–1910. Height 28 cm; very good condition.

A cylindrical decanter in clear lead crystal, featuring deep diamond-point (diamants biseaux) cutting across the body and topped with a matching faceted sphere stopper.

The decanter is mounted with an engraved gilt-bronze ring around the collar and rests on a matching gilded-bronze circular base decorated with geometric borders.

France, Baccarat. Late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1890–1910).

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, premier French crystal manufacturers such as Baccarat produced fine tableware and barware adorned with precision cut-glass patterns and gilt-bronze (ormolu) mounts. These mounted decanters were designed for formal dining service and tantalus sets.

This decanter demonstrates French crystal craftsmanship, combining heavy diamond-cut lead crystal with detailed gilt-bronze mounts.
