In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Art Nouveau glassmakers across Europe popularised coloured glass with enamelled botanical decoration inspired by Japanese art, including chrysanthemum motifs. Green glass with this type of decoration was produced by French glassworks such as Legras and Montjoye, as well as by Bohemian manufacturers.
