Pair Of French Opaline Medici Glass Vases.

Important pair of Medici vases on pedestal, Neo-Louis XVI style in high density milky white opaline. The flared neck with a wide molded lip highlighted with a gadrooned frieze in gilded bronze and adorned with a delicate decoration painted with polychrome enamels, depicting rich garlands and falling flowers suspended from bows of celestial blue ribbon. The base of the body, bulbous in shape, has a miniature flower garland. Each vase rests on a gilt bronze pedestal surrounding a pastel blue tinted opaline ring, itself flowery, the whole anchored on a circular molded bronze base with channels.
France. Second Empire period (around 1850-1870). In the style of crystal glass from Baccarat or Saint Louis.
