Napoleon III Gilt Bronze Cup With Crystal Palace Enamel, Great Exhibition 1851

A bowl mounted on a chiselled, gilded and openwork bronze pedestal, decorated with foliage scrolls, rocaille volutes and stylised clasps, centred on a polychrome enamel medallion depicting the Crystal Palace for the 1851 Great Exhibition. Tripod base in the shape of acanthus leaves, surmounted by a carved shaft.
